I am from trying on mommy’s make-up,

From Nerf guns and Warrior lacrosse sticks.

I am from making dangly, beaded earrings,

From dried cleat dirt and throwing balls against the bounce back.

I am from crafting handmade accordion scrap books,

From swimming freestyle and chlorine mixed with sweat.

I am from “Take the dog on a forty minute run,”

From “Come in from the cold for some hot cocoa.”

I am from “Let’s play catch,”

From “Let’s go shopping.”

I am from “Suck it up,”

From “I’ll tuck you in.”

I am from Dad and Mom,

From Coach and Caregiver.
