My Friend

My friend...
We are a fallen people
struggling to recapture
what was once known as our sanity
in this pile of hopeless rubbish.

My friend...
We are a desperate people
bequeathed by our ancestors
the love we neglect, only
to be wishing for more.

My friend...
We are a heartless people
who abandon our souls
for the greeds of
the tempting devil.

My friend...
We are a hopeless people
who have succumbed to
the debts of this world left
behind by the deceased.

My friend...
We are a kingdom of no change,
reliving the mistakes of our elders
from past wars while using that
as an excuse for more change.

My friend...
We are a people of rubbish!
