One glance one guess
No thinking about my intelligence but thinking about
What I will do with my life
Well your thoughts are wrong because you don’t know me

You don’t know what I have been through
You don’t know my knowledge
My journey right here to blow your mind
Has been a long journey of animosity toward my ancestors

Though learning about that animosity
and hard things my family has gone through
makes me more tenacious
Standing right here is an excellent feeling
And is making me stronger
Every day, every hour, every minute, every second, and every millisecond

I know I am powerful and that is no doubt
Because you may drive me down with your hate and stereotypes
But after that I will come back more powerful
Rising with power in my hands

Like a green leaf coming
Out of dry brittle soil that is
Malnourished and weak
But managed to survive
