Blissed in a daydream
“Freedom!” you scream,
Fairies and wine
In this palace divine.
You feel lighter,
The burden of the world off of you,
At least for a while
Till it comes back to you.
You walk around freely on the rainbow bridge
The tricolor state of mind.
Wind in your hair, the stars in the sky shine
Till your heels slip and you fall off the hedge.
You wanted to go to Asgard,
Get the experience of heaven for a while.
But someone pushed you
Right down to Helheim.
She was a betrayer, her,
She couldn’t stay long without you.
Reality, her name, she snatched you
Snatched you like a man stealing candy from a kid.
You were living in the glittering shadow,
Reality, the dark solid.
She clawed her way onto the high tree
Like a bear stealing honey from a comb.
You were in a state of nirvana,
Like you were lost in a fiction book
Till a phone rings, and you get distracted.
You see the name and it’s her again.
You want to go back to Elysium
Because although you feel numb and dead,
It is still better than feeling pain and dread.
You want to open the book and end the vellichor.
As you come out of the shadows,
You remember the reflected fictional life of light
You strive to savor every moment of happiness in your memories
You want to remember kairosclerosis.
You come to a point where you change slowly
From pleasant flowing honey to bittersweet jaggery.
You are the center of attention now,
Of people who call you a tragedy.
You have responsibilities in this world,
And you crave to get rid of them.
You want to quit this game of life
And register for one full of limitless dreams.
It’s pure joy to you, that feeling high,
You feel like you’re in a free fall,
But you think you’re dreaming still, so you jump.
Then you feel your spirit leave this world.
You first think this is better than before,
A golden boat lying on a river bank, you cross it.
But the judge claims you unimportant
And so you lie in the fields of asphodel, a lost soul.
Then you realize, the one who pushed you,
The one who made you this, a ghost wandering around in nowhere,
Made you jump down that building,
Was the shadow, the shadow of depression.
Now you realize,
Elysium was never free,
Asgard never heaven,
It was a cage, a kingdom of gods who fail to look after you.
The shadow made you ignore, ignore everyone you love, who now cry.
Because all it ever wanted was to fool you, betray you, consume you.
You had been foolish before, now you lie here,
Hidden behind the masks of darkness
Craving to claim your old life again,
But it is now too late.
