What is courage? And which type of courage do I believe is the most important in my community?
Courage is a particular characteristic which means doing something in spite of fear and possible negative outcomes.
There are a lot of types of courage such as moral, mental, and physical. All of them are important, and all of them complete each other, but the most important one in most communities is mental courage and it must be established magnificently.
Mental courage is to learn, unlearn, relearn with an open and resilient mind. What makes it the most important type of courage is that if you are intellectual, you can decide what you want. Lots of people have practiced their talents by themselves, and to be able to teach yourself is also a talent.
But in my society, there are two important types of courage: moral courage and intellectual courage. Moral courage is a type of courage to take action for moral reasons despite the risks of adverse consequences. In most communities, there are lots of mistakes that happen accidentally against human rights. And that’s where we must use moral courage to maintain the people’s rights, despite the consequences that we may face.
In conclusion “courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.” – Nelson Mandela
