The Opportunity of Challenges

ResilienceGlobal Beat

Rather often, while looking out of the window, I wonder how to deal with the problems life is throwing at me. After pondering for five to seven minutes, which always seems like ages, I realize that life is testing me. Life is trying to make me stronger and more rational.

I have never liked problems — I like challenges. So I decided to tackle my problems by thinking of them as challenges that I need to overcome to reach the next stage of life. The people who surround me at school and in society are my so-called friends. Friends, who many times bully me or make me feel unwanted and unhappy. This is one of the main problems or challenges I have to overcome. Luckily I have a couple of people whom I can trust, who are helping me be stronger.

Life is teaching me to be resilient, to win the battles it throws at me.

Life teaches every man, woman, and child to be resilient in their own way. Life makes sure everyone knows the burden of failure, the happiness of success, the joys and pain of love, and the insecurity of uncertainty. Everyone faces all these feelings, and a person’s resilience helps one to bear them all and still stand tall.

“Happiness can be found in the darkest times, if only one remembers to put on the light,” says Albus Dumbledore in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter. It is fiction, yet so true. This quote again talks about being strong and ready to face this cruel world, a world where there is dishonesty, hunger and laughter.

Not being a sycophant is a constant struggle for people who do not feel liked, but if that person is kind, has courage, and is ready to be resilient, he or she will be a winner.

“When you feel the world is against you, turn around and you will see the world standing behind you!” This quote truly resembles the ability of fighting for your opinion and what you feel is right.

Your community is your lifeline — it will throw problems at you, which will make or break you. You need to make those problems into opportunities to prove yourself, become resilient, and stand tall.
