I was about seven years old when I had my first experience with fear and anxiety. Really, life is strange! It all started with a challenge. I always loved to accept challenges, but I did not know about right or wrong. One of my friends asked me to steal money for a cup of tea; it was an illegal challenge for me! Soon I ran home to grab, I mean to steal, some money. I was about to put my hand in my mom’s purse, but I stopped. Suddenly a light flashed in my mind. This light was fear. I was shaking with fear and anxiety. I took my hand back. When I went to sleep that night, I understood the reason behind that flash of light. It was fear of disobeying my parents!
I was scared to steal money because my mother had warned me about doing so. These flashes from the conscience play a defensive role in my life and community. These emotions shake my soul and, at times, make me run away from danger.
Fear protects and does not harm me, but the majority of people think they lose opportunities due to fear. The truth is, this depends on the type of fear people have. Fear of our well-wishers (such as our parents) is a beneficial fear, like a security guard, but fear of daring may cause failures.
Both fear and anxiety play a major role in my life. First, fear stops me from doing things that are wrong and prohibited. Second, at times these two feelings act as my security guards, when my parents are not with me. They both stop me from doing bad things, just like my parents do. If I still take them lightly, they trap me in an awkward situation.
Also, because of fear and anxiety, I do not have time to play or use illogical or bad things. In short, they save the time and energy I would waste on these activities.
Whenever I do something bad,
Two security guards make me feel sad.
When I was alone at home, I once tried to steal some money
And then go to have some tea
and also eat something yummy-yummy!
They came like spies behind me,
I could not see them but they could see me.
At last, before I could take the tea’s glass,
Alas! They suddenly came and said,
“You’re not a robber who steals money,
And if you do it so anxious and fearful you’ll feel!”
