One of the most popular leisure activities among teenagers in Ukraine is watching movies. It is always a little holiday whenever a group of peers or the whole family has an opportunity to go to the cinema and enjoy the film or the cartoon that they have chosen together.

Unfortunately, COVID – 19 has greatly influenced our lives since 2019. The whole world had to accept a huge number of restrictions to survive this quickly spreading virus. My motherland is not an exception. Now Ukrainians cannot go to the movies whenever they wish. A couple of times a year we have regular and additional lockdowns. As a result, my family, friends, and relatives may enjoy watching films online only. It is not very bad, but this way of spending free time is not that fantastic. A huge screen and a high-quality music system, which some of us have in our living rooms, can barely substitute all the technology modern cinemas have.

Among my friends there is a little tragedy for those whose birthdays coincide with the quarantine period. On these days all of them have no opportunity to invite anybody anywhere. They feel absolutely desperate then. The only thing a birthday person usually does to make his or her day special is… Yes, watching amusing, cheerful and humorous comedies. These kinds of movies can quickly change our mood and make us smile or even laugh non-stop. They are 100% fun!

It is often useful to read a review of the film before watching it. The reason for this is the difference in our tastes. This genre is very rich and diverse, so there is always something everybody may enjoy the most. For example, some of my friends like viewing parodies, while others prefer dark comedies or screwball comedies. There are even some who adore watching slapstick comedies!

Movies are great! I am convinced that they make our lives better! Comedies create a special atmosphere by showing an amusing story and hilarious characters.
