Love in Society

The subject of human relations in all societies is an important matter, and perhaps it is one of the foundations of building society. These relationships have firm pillars that strike their roots in order to maintain the strength of social relations, and perhaps the most prominent and most important pillars in strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and friendship between individuals in societies are love, tolerance, kindness and serenity in our hearts, and purity in our thoughts and dealings. The love that emanates from the heart must be interpreted by the eyes, expressed by words, and expressed by actions and dealings with the other party. It must be clarified that love is not only for lovers, but is for all people. A child needs love in his upbringing, and an adult needs love from his children. Every individual in this life must love in order to see life as purer and higher, and this love will certainly lead to other moral values in social relations.

The lover overlooks the mistakes of the beloved, ignores many of the pitfalls, tries to lay down justifications, and seeks an excuse for what he may have committed, and this is called tolerance. Hatred and the pursuit of mistakes, if a lover cannot wait for the beloved’s mistake to punish him for his mistake, is in complete contradiction of the lofty concept of love. And vice versa, too. The seeds of tolerance cannot be planted and its fruits cannot sprout in the heart of a person who hates the other party. Rather, tolerance must be linked to love, respect, friendliness, and noble feelings far from interests, far from provoking sedition and harm to the other party, and here comes the role of ignoring. That is, not checking every mistake, as long as it can be forgotten and does not affect the essence of the relationship between human beings. Tolerance rises to higher ranks the more love increases, and love shines and increases in class the more it is adorned with tolerance, as if their tongue were saying: Come, let us sow our seeds in the soil of tired hearts, and water them with the water of love, and the light of kindness, forgiveness and sincerity, so that the sweetest fruits of kindness, purity and sincerity will sprout and transcend its owners’ ranks of contentment, happiness, and tranquility.

Love and tolerance are of great importance, and have a profound impact on individuals and societies. This effect may be stronger than the most important treatment for depression, and more important than the greatest attempt by psychological counselors to reform the souls that time has afflicted with its misery, depression, hatred and difficulties. The darkness is erased and the night becomes day, the sun gets brighter, and with tolerance, life becomes sweeter, and worries go away. When an individual fills his heart with love, this means that he will see everything around him with a loving and friendly eye, far from hatred, and this will make him satisfied with himself and satisfied with others, love his work, love his family, and love his friends, and thus see life as more beautiful, which helps in feeling reassured and love even for himself. This will certainly reflect on many details that he used to see as blea., With this love he will try to see the bright side in everything in his life.

As for society, the effect of love and tolerance on it is stronger and more severe than their impact on the individual, because society is larger, and the effects are clearer. If the majority of the members of society carry in their hearts and minds love and tolerance for each other, then the grudges in societies will disappear. Disputes and problems in the courts, and cooperation, assistance, and decent morals become the solid structure of society. The more the circle of love and tolerance in society expands, the more a strong, upright generation grows that does not know hatred, but rather knows how to solve the biggest, most complex and most difficult problems with love and tolerance. Society, instead of being captive to problems, grudges, hatred and resentment, spreads love, goodness, and peace. There are many small situations in which love and tolerance ended years of quarrels, and the estrangement between family, friends, and kinship for decades was ended by a simple word, which is “I forgive you.” He is not afraid of strangers; he sleeps comfortably because he feels safe and at peace.

Since love and tolerance played a great role in building societies and advancing individuals in all respects and at all levels, it was necessary to return to the teachings of the Islamic religion, and to review what is in this great religion of calling and urging love, tolerance, and forgiveness. The Islamic religion in the Holy Qur’an and Prophetic hadiths, and many positions of the Holy Prophet and the Companions – may God be pleased with them – calls for love, tolerance, and forgiveness for others. There is no role model for Muslims greater than the Messenger – may God’s prayers and peace be upon him. We follow his approach and the way he deals with others, and through this the importance of tolerance and love in the Islamic religion becomes clear. Because love and tolerance enhance strength among Muslims, and strengthen the ties between them, the Islamic religion called for them and enjoined them.

All that was mentioned about love and tolerance may be convincing to some, but it is also necessary for every person to know the importance of love and tolerance, and on more than one level, so that he knows that it is necessary to have these decent morals and virtuous qualities in his entire life, and his dealings with all people, and to rehearse them, and train himself on them until they turn into fixed habits and morals that characterize him.

Love makes a person’s health better, his thinking more accurate, his performance of his tasks better and more distinguished. In addition, tolerance among people makes them more optimistic about life and the future, and they appear to others as one cohesive body that resists enemies, and it is impossible to tear its bonds or keep them away. Love is strength and tolerance is a virtue, and if strength meets virtue, it will be greatness, majesty, and happiness. Love is important because it makes everything a person does pass quickly. If the student loves school, he will feel that the time in it is short, and he will be creative in his studies. The greatest thing that can be said about the importance of love and tolerance is that they sit on the throne of virtuous values and morals. He who loves and tolerates cannot lie, nor can he be deceived, betray, hurt, or harm the other party, because love prevents him from these actions, and because tolerance will make the other party ashamed of his wrong behavior, retract it, and not repeat it again. In addition to the fact that love and tolerance make a person a role model for others, it is important that these values begin with responsible people everywhere, such as the manager at work, the teacher in the classroom, and parents at home, and then these morals will be transmitted to others by example and not with theoretical speech.

In conclusion, love, forgiveness, and tolerance are the means of the contract in the morals of societies. The more they shine bright, the more all people rise to the highest levels of goodness, beauty, and love.
