In perspective of this paper, I am going to take my school, Quisqueya Christian School. as my community. I feel like in the United States the word community is different because it is like the people that live around you. Though in Haiti, there are not really blocks, where you can walk around much and get to know your neighbor, per se. So taking my school, I think they do a pretty solid job at incorporating fun into our daily lives, mostly. In general though, school is not necessarily the ideal place for you to “have fun.” But with us doing almost half of our schoolwork online, due to the previous issues of the country, it opens up a window of time during the day for the teachers to just let us do whatever and enjoy time with them, as well as our fellow classmates.
As for sports and hobbies, considering the fact that they can get fairly aggressive, as a student, I sometimes feel on the verge of getting into a fight. Especially while playing soccer, if I so much as say rude things out of anger, it would be over for me. So having several restrictions and regulations does sometimes suck the fun out of it in a sense. In my view, most of the teachers at my school are pretty great, with aspects such as humor and joking around. They give off a vibe that is welcoming and it feels like a safe space to have genuine fun alongside them.
