Giving your family love is the best gift you can give. Love sounds simple, right? In today’s time, it can be harder to show the love that your loved ones deserve. Love can be interpreted in many different ways, but in my family, there are three main love signs that we show. Those include listening, words of affirmation, and acts of service. All families are different and love in different ways, but the best ways that would work for you are right at your fingertips.

A strong relationship with family is built when both sides share thoughts and feelings and respond to one another’s needs, also known as deep listening. I remember a time when I was talking to my mom about moving schools. We had a long conversation portraying understanding, concern, and deep listening. Her being there, with good listening, made me feel overly cared for and extremely loved. Therefore something as simple as listening in any relationship can show the amount of love you truly have.

Words of affirmation are actually one of the five love languages. My family presents this on a daily basis. For example, every day before school, my mom constantly states that I look good before we leave. I present the same comments to her, as well as to my dad. My family feels as if this makes their day better. As you can see, kind words to your family is a big and beneficial way to show love. Therefore, saying kind words to others will make them feel loved.

Acts of service is another one of the five love languages. My whole family presents this a lot. When one of us does something simple to help out, it makes the other feel really good and loved. I remember a time when my grandma was cooking dinner for all of us. After she was done and we ate, I immediately went over to do the dishes without her asking. Looking back, this was me presenting acts of service, and it made her feel special and loved. Therefore, doing small acts of kindness toward others will make their day and present love.

In conclusion, showing love is the most important thing you can do when it comes to family. Ways my family shows love include listening, words of affirmation, and acts of service. As you can see through my writing, love being spread throughout your family is truly the most crucial thing you need.
