Maria Tatar teaches in the Program in Folklore and Mythology at Harvard University, where she is the John L. Loeb Professor of Germanic Languages and Literatures and Folklore and Mythology. She is the author of The Annotated Peter Pan, as well as of The Annotated Brothers Grimm, The Annotated Classic Fairy Tales, and Enchanted Hunters: The Power of Stories in Childhood, and many other volumes. A frequent contributor to NPR, The New Yorker, and The New York Times, she is currently at work on a volume of African American Folktales.
